About Mike Birbiglia’s Working It Out
“Mike Birbiglia’s Working It Out”
Fresh off his recent hit show, “Thank God for Jokes,” that toured 100 cities, ran off-Broadway for 4 months, and was nominated for the Lucille Lortel award, Mike Birbiglia will be making some rare club appearances in 2016 and 2017. Birbiglia is underway on an all-new hour of comedy. In his own words, “I’ve never been more excited about standup in my whole career. These shows will be a blend of entirely new material, improvisation, and a few stories from ‘Thank God for Jokes.’ These shows are raw, semi-improvised, unfinished. As rough as it might be, I promise that my heart will be in it and sometimes my writing has to catch up to my heart. That said, they will be FUN. And FUNNY.”
Mike Birbiglia is a comedian, writer, actor, and director known for his highly personal approach to comedy. Birbiglia burst onto the scene in 2006 with his critically acclaimed debut, “Two Drink Mike” on Comedy Central Records, and followed that with “My Secret Public Journal Live,” “Sleepwalk With Me Live” and “My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend.” He toured his most recent show, “Thank God for Jokes,” to more than 100 cities, and filmed it for Netflix, where it will premiere in 2017. Birbiglia can also be seen as Danny Pearson in Orange is the New Black, as well as in Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck, The Fault in Our Stars, and in his own films, Sleepwalk With Me and Don’t Think Twice.
